Wun-Dar Review

I don't know how to start this article. For Scareglow or Man-At-Arms, I could regale you with memories of childhood past. For Goddess or He-Ro, I could talk about how it's cool to discover these old characters that didn't make the cut in my youth. For Zodak or King Grayskull, I could talk about my attitudes toward the 200x and how ready I am for an all-new character made specifically for MOTU Classics. But Wun-Dar? What do I say? He is all those things and yet none of them at the same time. As the Savage He-Man, he has a vintage toy, sort of, but he's not part of the vintage mythos. As Wun-Dar, he's technically the only original character in MOTU Classics so far, but not really. He's really an homage to a legend; a tongue-in-cheek nod to a genuine MOTU mystery.

ItsAllTrueReview:
MOTU Classics Moss Man

Who could have guessed that Moss Man would end up as one of the most controversial MOTUC figures? He debuted at SDCC with flocking that Mattel couldn't mass replicate. When they changed it, they covered his ears and all hell broke loose. That resulted in two variants for the sale day. Mattel cleared a path of bandwidth and warned us to get in and order as quickly as possible. Moss Man went on-sale at 10:57 local IAT time and both versions were gone in a little over five minutes. Somehow, amidst all the hubbub, I got exactly the Moss Man I wanted.

Most Requested Figures: Panthor (Head Sculpt Poll)

...and we're back! Did you miss us? We missed you. We experienced some technical difficulties on Wednesday night that crashed the site and caused some other behind-the-scenes problems, but we're all better now (we hope!).

We get a lot of MOTU requests in our inbox that go unused. It's not that we don't appreciate them, it's always nice to see requests for some of our favorite MOTU characters, but Mattel makes it seem like the list is made and no amount of requests will change anything. It won't move up Roboto or help Extendar's chances. Still, the requests come in and we decided to toss at least one MOTU character into our 1st quarter poll (voting begins 4/16!). We looked at the e-mails and chose Panthor because we don't agree on how he should be done.

ItsAllTrueReview: DC
Classics vs. MOTU Classics 2pks

Joe vs. Cobra. Optimus Prime vs. Megatron. Ninja Turtles vs. The Foot. Marvel vs. Capcom. All great battles that fans have long taken sides on. Thanks to Mattel, we can add a new one to the mix: DC Universe Classics vs. Masters of the Universe Classics. Hey, it's less clunky than Crisis of the Infinite Masters of the Universe…

Mattel's first foray into bringing MOTUC to retail came with an unexpected twist, DC figures. ToyFare #152 first revealed the existence of these two-packs, Superman vs. He-Man & Lex Luthor vs. Skeletor, back in early February. Now, just weeks later, they've hit and fans are gobbling them up.
