As my 2015 toy budget is looking more & more limited, I’ve been cutting left & right. One line that I found I really wanted to scramble and fit in was the Transformers Masterpiece line. More than just about anything else I’m collecting right now, that one has a good hold on me.
But there are so many things to remember – which figures fit better than others? Which releases have the preferred color scheme? The preferred accessories? Which have been released here? Which ones are only overseas? There’s a ton of questions that always send me all over the TF sites trying to sort out. It usually takes a lot less to get me started on a checklist…
For 2015, Transformers finally joins the site with their own Visual Checklist on the Masterpiece line. The checklists homage the 1986 catalog and are split between Heroic Autobots & Evil Decepticons! Now I did have to make some calls on the checklist. Which Starscream to include? Does the Hasbro Asia Skywarp release count? And so I divided up the checklists in a particular way. The current crop, all scaled to fit with MP-10 get the visual treatment while the older or duplicate releases have a handy dandy table as well.
There are a few little tweaks here are there (the pixels aren’t quite lining up right across all browsers) and I’m open to feedback about what’s included where. Have at ’em!

NICE!
Glad you like it!
Will be helpful.
I hope so!
Great! I think this will be very useful.
Thanks!
Is there a reason MP Grimlock (MP-08) is listed so far down the list? Is it so that MP-10 gets the spotlight as the “start” of this scale? That would make sense now that I think about it, but I assumed they’d be listed in numerical order.
Optimus starts off, yes. Ideally, Soundwave will lose his spot to a new Megatron at some point.
It’s really Grimlock’s size. I wanted to keep the pictures in relative scale to one another and since he’s bigger, I moved him under the cars. They’ll probably all get moved around a bit as new releases are added.
This will help me when finally start getting some.
This checklist really does highlight the lack of decepticons in the MP line. Haha
I would say the “new” scale started off with MP-9 Rodimus Prime. MP-10 Optimus Prime was scaled to match him, and then everything has gone with that scale (more or less). Now, if you treat it only as Hot Rod, then yes, it’s way too big; more in line with MP-1. But he scales perfectly as Rodimus Prime.
