So it turns out that all titles in the first three weeks have sold out and order's for the forth week are up as much as 150% above expectations. There will be 10 books with print runs of 100k and JLA will be at 200k.

sure, this month... if those sales figures hold for three months, i'll be astounded. if they last 6 months, well hell, i'll go poney up for the "back issues" on the bat books at least, just to show my support.

Too many threads about the new 52. I thought we had a discussion about sales numbers and what makes a 'sell out'. Well here are the actual sales numbers from September. Remember that a 'top seller' comic for years now was in the 60-70k range with one or two special issues getting 100k in any given year. The complete article can be found at ICV2.

188,420           Batman #1
182,748           Action Comics #1
141,682           Green Lantern #1
129,260           Flash #1
118,376           Superman #1*
103,392           Detective Comics #1*
98,389           Batman: The Dark Knight #1*
 93,032           Fear Itself #6
 87,237           Ultimate Spider-Man #1
 85,242           Batman & Robin #1*
84,033           Green Lantern New Guardians #1*
 81,489           Batgirl #1*
 76,214           Wonder Woman #1*
 74,769           Green Lantern Corps #1*
 73,675           Teen Titans #1
 72,272           Aquaman #1*
 72,228           Batwoman #1
 71,944           Amazing Spider-Man #669
 66,546           Red Lanterns #1*
 62,856           Justice League Dark #1*
 62,717           Nightwing #1*
 62,080           Ultimate Comics X-Men #1
 61,492           Avengers #17
 61,079           Justice League International #1*
 58,326           Uncanny X-Men #543

Maybe a mod can pull some of these threads together

The number 2s are holding up and for the second month in a row (and the second month in almost three years) DC has claimed a larger percentage of the market than Marvel

And now the actual numbers:
http://www.icv2.com/articles/news/21453.html

Hulk 1 is Marvels best performer at 7 followed by Wolverine and Fear Itself. The next Marvel title is at 22. Overall sales are still up quite bit and if it holds through the end of the year could give the industry a gain over last year instead of the expected loss

On average the new 52 #2s were down 6% which is less than half of what is expected. Both Catwoman and Red Hood, the two books that got the worse press, we're up by 7% instead of dropping sales. Animal Man, a book I won't be continuing, gained the most with sales up 42% while Blackhawks (a book i will be reading) lost 26% of its issue 1 sales.
